Creative clinical supervision.

Clinical supervision work for professionals

I’m passionate about supervision and see it as a bit like the reflective, analytical compost in which to grow as a practitioner.

Supervision should offer you a space and a relationship that enables you to reflect on and analyse the work you do, and how it impacts on you personally and professionally. It should also provide the scope and opportunity to develop your skills to further benefit your clients.

It’s a complex relationship with a myriad of tasks involved, but ultimately supervision supports safe, effective clinical work. My own clinical supervisor embodies my beliefs about what the role requires, and I’m a more robust and effective practitioner as a result.

Some of the benefits of clinical supervision include (but are not limited to):

  • Developing your key skills as a practitioner

  • Expanding your range of clinical techniques, their underpinning theories and their evidence base

  • Recognising and challenging any ingrained patterns of practice

  • Deciding on appropriate changes and adjustments within your practice

  • Supporting your personal growth and resilience

  • Reflecting on cultural/contextual difference and its potential impacts

  • Raising awareness around risk assessment/management

If you’re looking for a clinical supervisor, then I would love the opportunity to chat with you.

If you’re part of an organisation that is looking for support for your teams to resist vicarious trauma or burnout, then please get in touch.
